    Belarus v Turkey

These two teams had rough starts to the competition, but now that they each improved their records to 1-2, every game has become like a final. Whoever controls the emotions better will see their chances increased to keep dreaming with a spot in the Quarter-Finals.

    France v Brazil

After losing all three of their games, Brazil must win on Thursday or see their run at the Rio Olympics come to a premature end. The trouble is, the French - who overpowered Brazil in a three-game warm-up series last month - are coming off a loss to Group A leaders Australia and have only one goal in mind: to beat the hosts. It remains to be seen if local fans flocking into the Deodoro Youth can provide a huge moral boost and a definite homecourt advantage.

    Japan v Australia

These two teams have more similarities than differences. They both play fast-paced basketball, love shooting from three-point range, but the Opals are stronger in the paint. Penny Taylor and Liz Cambage have been spectacular for the Australians, but they will need to be able to stop the athleticism of Ramu Tokashiki as well as the quickness of Asami Yoshida.
