The basketball federation has confirmed that it is going face the first three teams in the FIBA World Ranking, No. 1 USA, No. 2 Spain and No. 3 Lithuania, in warm-up games.
This, director of national teams Oswaldo Narvaez says, is a sure sign that Venezeulan basketball is moving in the right direction.

Venezuela's summer of 2015 is something the fans are still buzzing about. They beat Canada in the Semi-Finals of the FIBA Americas Championship to qualify for the Olympics.
The occasion became even sweeter when Venezuela beat South American heavyweights Argentina, the No. 4 team in the world rankings, in the Final. It marked the first FIBA Americas Championship title in the country's history.
Venezuela will face Lithuania on July 10 in Vilnius and then the USA on July 29 in Chicago.
Nestor 'Che' Garcia's squad will take on Spain in two friendly games, in Malaga on July 23 in either Malaga or Granada and then in Valladolid two days later.
Other national team opponents for Venezuela in their preparations will be Angola on June 19 in Spain, and Belarus on July 12 and the Netherlands on July 14 (both in Lithuania).
At the Olympics, Venezuela will play in Group A against the United States, China, Australia and two of the three FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) winners.
Venezuela have also announced the preliminary list of players that are available for selection. Among the candidates is Greivis Vasquez, the country's lone NBA player who missed last summer's big achievement. Another is Heissler Guillent, who has been out of competition since getting hurt in January.
