BEIJING (Rio 2016 Olympic Games) - With just one month before the Rio Olympics, China have a lot of room for improvement following their two defeats in as many games at the ongoing 2016 Stankovic Cup in Bejing.

Even the return of three-time Olympian Yi Jianlian, who missed their first 79-71 defeat against fellow Rio Olympics-bound Nigeria, has made little difference.

The Most Valuable Player of last year's FIBA Asia Championship came up 12 points and 5 rebounds, Guo Ailun added 11 points, but China fell to a France development team 63-48.

Even new NBA draftees Zhou Qi and Wang Zhelin could only contribute 4 and 2 points respectively against a French side led by Hugo Invernizzi.

As the Stankovic Cup heads to its final day on Friday, the clock is ticking fast for the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship, who have been drawn in the Olympics Group A alongside the USA, Venezuela, Australia and two teams that will qualify to Rio via the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQTs).

Early in the competition, the African champions lost 71-49 to an Argentina development side.

Nigeria (1-1) will face France (2-0) on Friday, while hosts China (0-2) will square off against Argentina (1-1).
