GUAM (FIBA U17 Oceania Championships 2017) - The draw for the Group Phase of the FIBA U17 Oceania Championships 2017 to be played in Guam’s University of Guam Field House and Father Duenas Memorial School from July 10-15 has been announced.
The eight (8) men’s and eight (8) women’s teams participating in this year’s event have been placed into groups of two as follows:
Men
Group A: Guam, Marshall Islands, New Zealand, Tahiti.
Group B: Australia, New Caledonia, Palau, Samoa.
Women
Group A: Australia, Samoa, Marshall Islands, Tahiti.
Group B: Guam, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Palau.
The top two (2) teams from each group advance to Division A Semi-Finals.
The third (3rd) placed team from each pool advance to Division B Gold Medal game.
The fourth (4th) placed team from each pool advance to Division B Bronze Medal game.
The Final Phase will be played in a knockout format from the Semi-Finals onwards (Semi-Finals and Final).

The FIBA U17 Oceania Championships are qualifying events for the 2018 FIBA U18 Asia Championship and the 2018 FIBA U18 Women’s Asia Championship. From this event, the top four (4) teams of each gender will qualify for the FIBA U19 World Cup 2019 and FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup respectively.
