CLEVELAND (NBA) - LeBron James poured in 29 points to become Cleveland’s all-time leading scorer and Zydrunas Ilgauskas weighed in with 16 as the Cavaliers defeated the Toronto Raptors 90-83 on Friday.
Ilgauskas, who wants to play for Lithuania this summer at the Beijing Olympics, also had 10 rebounds and blocked three shots.
James, one of the captains of Team USA, surpassed Brad Daugherty’s career haul of 10,389 points and now has 10,414.
While it took former University of North Carolina star Daugherty 548 games to amass his total, James has played in just 380 games.
More importantly for Cleveland, who were swept in four games last year in the NBA Finals by San Antonio, they improved to 40-30 while dropping Toronto to 35-34.
The Cavs are fourth in the Eastern Conference while the Raptors are sixth.
Andrea Bargnani of Italy failed to score in more than 16 minutes while Spain’s Jose Calderon had 12 points and only three assists.
The Orlando Magic continue to be one of the surprise teams this season. They are third in the Eastern Conference at 46-25 after thrashing the Philadelphia 76ers (34-35), 113-95.
The Washington Wizards are fifth in the East at 35-33 after a 103-86 triumph at beleaguered Miami.
The Houston Rockets, who dropped two straight after reeling off 22 consecutive victories, got back on track with a 109-106 victory at Golden State.
Argentina national team star Luis Scola started at center and had 10 rebounds to go with his nine points.
In other games, Indiana beat visiting Minnesota 123-113, Denver prevailed 125-114 at New Jersey and Memphis snapped an 18-game losing run away from home with a 120-106 triumph at New York.
San Antonio rolled to a 102-89 triumph at home over Sacramento, the Trail Blazers won in Portland over the Los Angeles Clippers 107-102 and the LA Lakers trounced Seattle at the Staples Center 130-105.
