MVP Dearica Hamby spearheads star-studded FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2023 Women’s Team of the Tournament
SAN JUAN (Puerto Rico) - Team USA’s Dearica Hamby bookended an incredible tournament with last second heroics to claim MVP honors at the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2023 in Puerto Rico on December 3.
SAN JUAN (Puerto Rico) - Team USA’s Dearica Hamby bookended an incredible tournament with last second heroics to claim MVP honors at the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2023 in Puerto Rico on December 3.
Hamby had been clutch all tournament, leading her side in scoring with 33 points while having a prominent impact on defense. Her crowning moment came in the last second of the final against Brazil where a clutch shot wrapped up a 13 - 19 comeback to win gold.
She was the spark for team USA as she earned MVP Honors. Joining her in the Women’s Team of the Tournament is top scorer Vitoria Marcelino (Brazil) who led her side to silver and Canada’s Paige Crozon whose 35 points helped her side pick up Bronze.
