ISTANBUL (FIBA World Championship for Women) - Jelena Milovanovic was the lead engine in the Serbian scoring machine which was the first to cross the century mark at the 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women, courtesy of a 102-42 win against Angola.

But for the Washington Mystics power forward the win was only the beginning of a "mission for the Serbian flag."

"Our men's team in Spain has brought in a lot of energy into our team," the 25-year-old said referring to the runners-up position Serbia achieved at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup a fortnight ago.

"We may not reach that far, but it won't be for want of effort. They (the National Federation) have given us everything. The least we can do is to give our best effort on court," she said.

"The men have showed us how to play for the Serbian flag and we are determined to repeat that."

Milovanovic hit an incredible 8 of her 10 attempts in the paint in her first game at this level.

"This is my first World Championship. I hope it's not the last. I will give my very best here," she said.

I was very excited to play here. I couldn't wait to be here. - Milovanovic

"We are happy with the start," she said of the victory against Angola.

The big win didn't matter as much for Milovanovic as did the fact that all Serbian players scored.

"It's good all the players scored. It's a very good sign for the Serbian team. It means our plans are working well," she said.

"We played them (Angola) during our preparation and we know their game. We just gave our best."
