    RIYADH (Saudi Arabia) - Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Nauris Miezis added another MVP award to the trophy cabinet at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Riyadh Masters on November 12, 2022.

    RIYADH (Saudi Arabia) - Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Nauris Miezis added another MVP award to the trophy cabinet at the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Riyadh Masters on November 12, 2022.

    The 31-year-old delivered an epic performance in the final to extend Riga (LAT)'s winning streak on the 3x3 pro circuit to 25 games.

    The number 11 player in the world recorded a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double, a rare statistical performance in the first-to-21, 10-minute game. 

    Most importantly, the 6ft 3in. (1.90m) dragster stepped up in the clutch as he scored his team's last 7 points. He buried a first two-pointer to take the lead and a second for the win with the game tied at 19, a Maurice Lacroix buzzer beater all the way from the Enlio logo, far beyond the arc.

    The Kekava native led all players in key assists and finished second overall in player value (behind the number one 3x3 player in the world Strahinja Stojacic (Ub Huishan NE, SRB).

    It was Miezis's second MVP trophy this year, following his spectacular performance at the Cebu Masters.
