    When it comes to experience, Fatou Diagne has her fair share. She won last year's WBLA tournament with Egypt's Alexandria Sporting Club, and the forward was a silver medallist with Senegal in the AfroBasket (2021 and 2023).

    DAKAR (Senegal) - Over the years, ASC Ville de Dakar have become one of Senegal's most successful clubs, and as hosts of the 2024 Women's Basketball League Africa (WBLA) the expectation is for them to bring a fifth women's title home.

    Since its formation, ASC has been a women's team and introduced a men's side in 2014.

    HOW THEY QUALIFIED FOR THE WBLA

    The four-time domestic (Nationale 1 Feminin) champions qualified as tournament hosts. This is the fourth time Senegal will the WBLA.

    KEY PLAYERS

    When it comes to experience, Fatou Diagne has her fair share. She won last year's WBLA tournament with Egypt's Alexandria Sporting Club, and the forward was a silver medallist with Senegal in the AfroBasket (2021 and 2023).

    American Andreona Keys is a new inclusion to the team. The former Purdue student-athlete has played mostly in Eastern Europe, and the Senegalese club will depend on her for floor general duties.

    Elisabeth Dabou of Mali is a third key player for the club from the Senegal capital. Having come through the youth ranks with Mali, Dabou has won Afrobasket titles at the U16 and U18 levels. The 20-year-old also played in two U19 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cups.

    She has also played at the 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup, so Dabou is well-versed on the big stage.

    HEAD COACH

    Moustapha Gaye has two Women's AfroBasket titles with Senegal - which he won in 2009 and 2015. He also led the national team to the 2016 Rio Olympics. With Gaye at the helm of ASC and strong recruits, they are not short in ambition.

    CLUB'S MANAGEMENT, AND HOME GAMES

    Yatma Diaw is the club's president, and ASC plays their games at the Marius Ndiaye Stadium.
