TAIPEI CITY (Chinese Taipei) - Ulaanbaatar Xac Broncos are making another charge onto the Asian club basketball scene. They’re coming back with another title, more star power, and a point to prove.
The Mongolian champions battled through a tough group in last year’s BCL Asia Qualifying Round, going 1-2 with a dominant win over Adroit and two narrow losses to eventual qualifiers Pelita Jaya and Hitech. Their road ended in the Qualification Game with a 94-83 loss to Prawira Bandung, but the Broncos showed they could hang with top-tier competition.
They came so close and now they have a shot at redemption.
They return to BCL Asia-East 2025 as the reigning champions of Mongolia's The League, hungry to take the next step forward.
History
Established in 2004, the Broncos are one of Mongolia’s leading basketball clubs, and their recent form only strengthens that case. They captured The League championship last season, riding a dominant campaign to secure their spot in BCL Asia-East 2025.
The team is currently back in the Playoffs, holding a 3-2 lead in the Semi-Finals over Selende Boldons as they look to return to the Finals. Their consistency on the domestic front has made them a model of success in Mongolian basketball.

Players to Watch
Azbayar Altangerel is the rising face of the franchise. The MVP and Defensive Player of the Year in The League this season, he averaged 11.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks on 51 percent shooting. At just 22, he’s already become a force and continues to grow. He gained valuable international experience last year in the BCL Asia Qualifiers and in six games with the Mongolian national team in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers.
Bilguun Battuvshin brings leadership and experience. A long-time national team standout, Battuvshin averaged 15.8 points and 4.8 assists per game in the previous BCL Asia Qualifiers. He has played in every game of Mongolia’s Asia Cup campaign from Pre-Qualifiers to the main stage, and remains a critical playmaker for the Broncos.
Foreign talent adds a high ceiling to this squad. Jordan Tolbert, formerly of NS Matrix Deers, was one of the standout performers in last year’s BCL Asia campaign, averaging 16.6 points and 8.3 rebounds across both stages. He's been playing for the Broncos in The League and could potentially be one of the most important contributors in their BCL Asia-Est campaign.
Ariunbold Erdene, the assistant coach of last year's squad has been promoted as head coach of Broncos.
