David Jackson was decisive for the home team in the final moments of the match. Scoring a free-throw with 36 seconds on the clock, to tie the score at 80. Then, with a very good individual offensive play he drew a foul and went back to the free-throw line. He gave Franca a two-point advantage with 3.6 seconds to play in the game. Instituto had one last chance after the timeout from coach Facundo Muller, but Facundo Scala missed the three-point attempt.
Lucas Silva, with 26 points and eight rebounds, stood out for Franca. Jackson finished with 18.
Both teams had already earned the ticket to the Semi-Final Phase of the Liga Sudamericana.
In the duel between Leones de Quilpué (Chile) and Aguada (Uruguay), the Chilean squad managed to defeat the Uruguayan representative 87-83 and finished third in Group A.
Two free throws by forward Eduardo Marechal, with six seconds remaining, put the definitive advantage of four points for the Chilean team, which maintains the hope of advancing to the next phase as the best third place team among Groups A, C and D.
The Dominican center Elys Manuel Guzman was unstoppable for Leones with 32 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
