Rio de Janeiro and Barquisimeto to host DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2017 Semi-Finals

SAN JUAN (DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2017) - The South American Basketball Confederation (CONSUBASQUET) confirmed that Rio de Janeiro and Barquisimeto will host the Semi-Final Phase of the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2017, where two teams will qualify to the Grand Finale and the hopes of winning the Horacio Muratore Cup.
Flamengo and Guaros will defend their home court in a Semi-Final Phase that has been configured as follows:
Semi-Final Group 1 — November 7-9 — Venue: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil*
Flamengo (Brazil)*
Pinheiros (Brazil)
Estudiantes de Concordia (Argentina)
Olimpia (Paraguay)
Semi-Final Group 2 — November 14-16 — Venue: Barquisimeto, Venezuela*
Guaros de Lara (Venezuela)*
Quilmes de Mar del Plata (Argentina)
Cimarrones (Colombia)
Aguada (Uruguay)
At the Semi-Finals phase, the participating teams will face each other in a round robin format for three days. The best team from each group will advance to the Grand Finale.
The Grand Finale will be played as a best of five series, where the recipient of the Horacio Muratore Cup will get to enter the history books as the South American Champion.

The champions of the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana 2017 will qualify to the DIRECTV Liga de las Américas 2018.
The Brazilian team Mogi das Cruzes won the 2016 edition.
