    Day 11: Olimpia adds second win, Deportivo Calero makes history

    POTOSI (DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana) – The second day of the last preliminary group of the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana saw Olimpia of Paraguay add its second win and Deportivo Calero level its record at 1.

    POTOSI (DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana) – The second day of the last preliminary group of the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana saw Olimpia of Paraguay add its second win and Deportivo Calero earn the first victory for a Bolivian team in the history of the club competition.

    Olimpia of Paraguay best its record to 2-0, after an 82-60 win over Regatas Lima on the second day of Group D. Led offensively by 21 points from Javier Martinez, Olimpia won the first half convincingly and escaped to a comfortable lead. Regatas Lima won the third quarter, but with 46% shooting from the field the team from Paraguay secured the win, and the top of the preliminary group.

    Deportivo Calero earned its first Liga Sudamericana after a 104-86 performance over HR Portoviejo. The first half was closely contested, but in the third quarter the host won the quarter 33-21, with 48% shooting from the field and a 32-point and 11-rebound performance from Louis Munks III. Calero kept safe distance on the last quarter to secure the win.

    Tomorrow on the last day of the preliminary phase of the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana, Regatas Lima will face HR Portoviejo and Deportivo Calero will face Olimpia.

    The top team from Group D will earn the last available ticket to the Semi-Final Phase of the DIRECTV Liga Sudamericana.
