KUWAIT CITY (FIBA Asia) - Former Macedonia coach Jordanco Davitkov has been named the new head coach of Kuwait.

Davitkov has been working in the country at club level, guiding Jahra to five titles in three seasons. After signing a new contract with the club, he has now agreed to handle the national team as well.

"To be the choice as coach of Kuwait is a great honor for me and recognition of my work and achievements in recent years in the Gulf country," Davitkov said.

"I hope to justify the confidence of the federation, although it will not be easy because I will work both with the team and with my club who have great ambitions.

"However, I worked in a similar dual role in Macedonia and managed to have success in both fields."

Davitkov served as Macedonia coach from 2001 to 2007, while his club resume includes KK Strumica and KK Fersped Rabotnicki in his homeland.
