The Cape-Verdean club have a second chance after finishing 0-2 in Group Phase played in Libya in October.

    ABIDJAN (Cote d'Ivoire) - Cape Verdean side Kriol Star has been awarded a wild card to compete in the Road to BAL East Division Elite 16 in Nairobi, Kenya, FIBA Africa announced.

    The eight-team qualifier tournament for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2025 season will take place at Kasarani Indoor Arena in Nairobi, Kenya from Thursday, November 28 to Tuesday, December 3. November 30 will be a rest day.

    Participating teams in the East Division Elite 16 are as follows: Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya), Urunani Basket Club (Burundi), City Oilers (Uganda), Bravehearts (Malawi), Matero Magic (Zambia), MMB (South Africa), Fox Basketball (South Sudan), Kriol Star (Cape Verde).

    The eight participating teams will be divided into two groups of four team each and will compete in a round-robin system.

    The teams that finish in the top two places of each group advance to the Semi-Finals, where the winners qualify for the BAL season 5.
