    SEOUL (KBL) - Dongby Promy continued their forceful play beating LG Sakers 76-63 on Sunday, but KCC Egis needed double overtime to overcome Samsung Thunders 104-98 on Monday in games two of the KBL play-offs.

    Both Dongbu and KCC had won the openers.

    KCC leave it late

    Smarting under the game 1 loss, Samsung Thunders opened up a 28-19 lead at the end of the first quarter only to see KCC fight back and cut down the deficit to 44-47 at the end of the first half.

    A 22-15 run put Samsung ahead by 10 points again at the end of the third quarter, but KCC bounced back again and tied the scores at 82 apiece at the end of regulation play.

    The first overtime ended with the teams locked at 88 before KCC raked up a 16-10 run in the second Overtime to go 2-0 ahead in the best-of-five quarter-finals.

    Giant center Ha Seung-jin led KCC’s scoring with 21 points and American Chris Daniels had a double double – 15 points and 14 rebounds. Choo Seung-kyun and Cohn Tae-poong each accounted for 16 points.

    Aaron Haynes poured in a mammoth 42 points for Samsung while Eric Sandrin had 17 points.

    Clinical Dongbu

    Dongbu Promy had no such trouble dishing out a clinical performance.

    Dong Hae Kang’s team surged ahead 19-13 in the first quarter and maintained the momentum for the remainder of the game.

    American Rod Benson scored 23 points and collected 15 rebounds. Hwang Jin-won had 15 points.

    Greg Stevenson had a game-high 26 points for LG Sakers.

    Games three will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday.
