PIRAEUS (Greece) - There has been no lack of drama at the FIBA Olympic Qualification Tournament in Greece and it's win or go home time as group play comes to an end on Thursday. Here's a look at the situation in both groups ahead of the action on July 4. We've done the math, so you don't have to!
Croatia
*Croatia are the only team that has secured qualification to the Semi-Finals going into Thursday's games. - Croatia will advance as Group A winners if Slovenia defeat New Zealand by up to 28 points. - Croatia will advance as second from Group A if New Zealand defeat Slovenia, or if Slovenia win by 29 or more points.
New Zealand
- New Zealand will qualify, as Group A winners, if they defeat Slovenia. - New Zealand will qualify, as second in the group, if they lose to Slovenia by no more than 9 points. - New Zealand will finish third (and will not qualify) if they lose to Slovenia by 10 or more points.
Slovenia
- Slovenia will qualify if they defeat New Zealand by 10 or more points. - Slovenia will qualify as Group A winners, if they defeat New Zealand by 29 or more points. - Slovenia will finish third (and will not qualify) if they lose to New Zealand, or if they win by up to 9 points.
Dominican Republic
- Dominican Republic will qualify, as second from Group B, if Greece defeat Egypt OR if Egypt beat Greece by 42 points or more. - Dominican Republic will finish third (and will not qualify), if Egypt defeat Greece by 41 points or less.
Egypt
- Egypt will qualify if they defeat Greece. And if Egypt beat Greece by 20 points or more, they will qualify as Group A winners. - Egypt will finish third (and will not qualify), if they lose to Greece.
Greece
- Greece will qualify if they defeat Egypt. - Greece will qualify if they lose to Egypt by up to 41 points. - Greece will finish third (and will not qualify), if they lose to Egypt by 42 points or more.
