With the first round of games over attentions turned to the Dunk Contest, which saw eight players face off for the single spot in the Final.

With each contestant given five attempts, and the first successful dunk marked by the three-man jury, Amman’s Ali Jamal and Ashgabat’s Pavel Averyanov finishing tied after Jamal produced a big slam over a kneeling teammate and Averyanov a spotless three-sixty.

To break the tie, Averyanov made a behind-the-back alley-oop pass to…

…himself, for a dunk he what fall just short of slamming home completely.

Jamal’s mates proved quite how faithful they are, lining up on the no-charge semi-circle to be – simply put – posterized. The celebration itself warranted the almost perfect score.

Jamal goes through to take on Polish pro-dunkers Emil Olszewski and Rafał "Lipek" Lipiński as well as Istanbul’s very own Yigit Sezgin in Sunday’s Final (16:00 local time).
