BOLOGNA (Lega A) - Virtus Bologna have parted with coach Lino Lardo.
The split was announced almost immediately after four-time defending champions Montepaschi Siena's 3-1 victory over Virtus in the Lega A play-off quarter-finals.
"A big thanks to Lino Lardo for his work," said club supremo Claudio Sabatini in a Virtus Bologna statement.
"In these two years I was able to get to know not only his professional skills but also his human qualities.
"The decision to discontinue the collaboration was taken together, a difficult choice, but shared."
Lardo led the club to an eighth-place finish with 15 wins and 15 defeats during the Lega A regular season.
