SAN FRANCISCO (United States) - Ikenna Alozie of Nigeria was named the Most Valuable Player of the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Global Camp 2025 at the NBA All-Star Weekend.
Alozie showed why he is ranked in the top 10 of his USA high school class, standing out in San Francisco among one of 40 boys campers from Africa, the Americas, Asia, Oceania, and Europe.
The ninth annual BWB Global camp took place from February 14-16 at the Golden State Valkyries Performance Center and featured players from 22 countries.
The camp included NBA Coaching Development Program members Juan Dixon, Yolanda Moore, Damon Jones and Emeka Okafor to oversee the event. The campers went through three days of on-court development, 5-on-5 games and life-skills development programming.
A total of 116 BWB campers have made it to the NBA, including the 27 current NBA players that participated in BWB Global.
Alozie was the leading scorer of the competition with 7.0 points per game, including scoring 6 points in the final game of the game - a 33-25 win by the Hornets over Wizards.
Alozie’s teammates on the Hornets team were Ali Assran of Egypt, Heri Bukinga of Democratic Republic of Congo, Australians Alexander Dickeson and Mading Kuany, Germany's Mathieu Grujicic, Sifeng Huan of China, Nikola Janichikj of North Macedonia, Serbian Ognjen Srzentic and Justin Roman of Puerto Rico.
Canadian Tutijek TJ Wal was the second-leading scorer with 6.4 points for Wizards as he picked up 4 points in the last game and a competition-best 15 points in his team’s 35-29 victory in the Semi-Finals.
Australian Dash Daniels was honored as the Defensive MVP of the camp.
Alexander Dickeson of Australia was given the Patrick Baumann Sportsmanship Award and Nikola Janichikj of North Macedonia was the 3-Point Champion.
