Hosts for remaining 2022 European events and early designations for 2023 announced
MUNICH (Germany) - The hosts for FIBA European Championships for Small Countries and the remaining 2022 Youth European Championships have been announced.
MUNICH (Germany) - The hosts for FIBA European Championships for Small Countries and the remaining 2022 Youth European Championships have been announced after they were approved by the FIBA Europe Board earlier this month, with the early designations for 2023 events also confirmed.
European Championships for Small Countries
The FIBA European Championship for Small Countries 2022 will be hosted in Ta' Qali, Malta while Nicosia in Cyprus will organize the Women's European Championship for Small Countries. Both events will be played between June 28 and July 3, 2022.
Youth European Championships
The FIBA Women's U16 European Championship Division C was assigned to Korce, Albania and will be played from July 12-17, 2022.
The Board accepted a proposal by the Hungarian Basketball Federation to bring forward the dates of the FIBA Women's U20 European Championship, Division A by one day to July 8-16, 2022.

The Board also accepted a proposal by the Youth Commission and Competitions Commission of FIBA Europe to amend the principles for the Draw seedings for Youth European Championship.
The seedings will now be based on the average results in the same category from the last three years of events played.
In addition to confirming the 2022 hosts, the Board also approved the early designation candidatures for the following 2023 events:
FIBA U20 European Championship, Division A in Heraklion, Crete FIBA U20 European Championship, Division B in Sofia, Bulgaria FIBA U18 European Championship, Division A in Nis, Serbia FIBA U18 European Championship, Division B in Matosinhos, Portugal FIBA Women's U16 European Championship, Division A or B in Ankara, Turkey (depending on which division Turkey women's U16 national team will be in 2023) [/unordered]###
