MANAMA (Bahrain) - Ahmed Haji could not - and did not - miss while knocking down a Continental Cup Qualifiers all-time record of 11 three-pointers in the first three quarters of Bahrain's win against Syria.
Yes, that's not a typo. Ahmed Haji made 11 three-pointers in three-quarters without missing a single long range shot.
Check out the marksmanship here:
It's a shooting performance that resembles that of:
The perfect 9-9 three-point shooting games recorded by Jalen Brunson, Latrell Sprewell, and Ben Gordon (who did it twice)
Ty Lawson's 10 consecutive three-point shots made in a game before missing the 11th attempt back in April 9, 2011 when the Denver Nuggets played the Minnesota Timberwolves
Shake Milton's record of 13 consecutive three-point shots made across a three-game stretch for the Philadelphia 76ers
Toni Kukoc making 11 of 12 three-pointers against USA in Italy back in 1987
Karl Tilleman, the Canadian Olympian who made 10 three-pointers in the 1988 Olympics against Spain
Haji smashed the record for most three-pointers made in a single Continental Cup Qualifiers game since the new qualification system was implemented in 2017, set by Chris Goulding who knocked down 9 three-pointers just over 24 hours ago.
Haji missed his first attempt in the game - a two-point field goal - before knocking down four straight threes in the first quarter. The second quarter came and he was still red-hot, knocking down four more three-point shots before halftime.
Coming out of the locker room, Haji was oozing with confidence and went unconscious in the third quarter for three more triples, highlighted by a fastbreak pull up triple which at one point nearly led him to outscoring the entire Syria national team by himself.
