Great Britain legend Sullivan calls it a day
LEICESTER (FIBA EuroBasket 2017) - Andrew Sullivan, the former captain of the Great Britain national team, has announced his decision to retire from professional basketball, ending an illustrious career.

The 37-year-old, who spent the last five seasons of his career with the Leicester Riders in the British Basketball League, goes off on a high note, having won the BBL Trophy, League and Play-Offs with the club this season.

"I have been playing basketball for over two decades. I have had an amazing time representing my country, some amazing clubs and playing here [at Leicester] for five seasons, but today I am announcing my retirement," the player said in a special press conference.
Sullivan goes off as Great Britain's most-capped player with exactly 100 appearances for the national team, with his final game coming against New Zealand back in 2015.
"There have been some amazing moments, representing Great Britain at the Olympics and playing in London a stone's throw from where I grew up with family and friends able to watch me play," said Sullivan, calling to mind his most memorable summer with the national team.

After representing Villanova in the NCAA, the Great Britain legend played in various European leagues, including top flights in Cyprus, Belgium, the Netherlands, Russia and Spain before finishing his career back in England.
