Rudy Gobert blocked Kawamura's shot in overtime

    Two of France's biggest superstars showed why they are great on the global stage. Rudy Gobert and Nicolas Batum both moved up the all-time blocks leaderboard.

    LILLE (France) - Two of France's biggest stars are also defensive stalwarts and both Rudy Gobert and Nicolas Batum moved up on the Olympics' all-time leaderboard in the team's overtime victory over Japan at the 2024 Paris Games.

    Gobert batted away two shots in France's 94-90 overtime win over Japan and jumped to 22 in his third Olympics, pulling ahead of Andres Nocioni of Argentina and China's Yi Jianlian for fourth place.

    Batum, who is playing in his fourth Olympics, swatted two shots as well, giving him 19 blocks for his career. That tied him with Australian legend Andrew Bogut for seventh place.
