She took a silver medal with France and locked down a place in the All-Star Five. Now the French forward can also reflect with pride on another individual accolade.

PARIS (France) - Providing the main thrust behind the silver medal finish for France at the Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024, Gabby Williams collected the Best Defensive Player Award.

While hugely effective on both ends of the floor, the forward set the tone for her team from the very first jump ball in Lille. Williams cemented her reputation as one of the best defenders in the women's global game with her performances for Les Bleues. Leading by example with her IQ and reading of the game, her steals so often sparked so many fast break opportunities for France. With her tireless work ethic in every game, Williams also showed there are few, if any, better on-ball and off-ball defenders. She signed off the competition by also banking a place in the Paris 2024 All-Star Five.
