Field complete for FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2023

EILAT (Israel) - It's official! All the tickets have been taken after the final six spots for 3x3's biggest event in 2023 were secured at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifier on May 6-7. 

Three women's and three men's teams have kept their dreams alive after sealing berths to the FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2023 in Vienna on May 30-June 4. 

In a drama-filled two days in the picturesque port of Eilat, Israel proved to be the hosts with the most as both their men's and women's team qualified for the big stage in Vienna. 

Inspired by their incredibly passionate fans, and dazzling performances from showman Shoham Gat and dunking machine Netanel Artzi, Israel were unbeaten and finished second in the overall standings behind Slovenia. 

Hungary grabbed the last men's ticket with dynamic duo Attila Demeter and  Tamas Ivosev downing a strong China team. 

It now means Slovenia will be in a tough Pool B - probably the 'Group of Death' - alongside former champs USA, European powerhouses Latvia, hosts Austria and Australia. 

Israel are in Pool C highlighted by No.3 seeds Lithuania and Belgium, while Hungary won a spot in Pool D led by former World Cup finalists the Netherlands.

Pool B: Slovenia, USA, Latvia, Austria, Australia 
Pool C: Israel, Lithuania, Belgium, Poland, Puerto Rico

In the women's, Australia continued the momentum from their crushing victory at FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2023 with an unbeaten campaign in Eilat. 

With Marena Whittle and Alex Wilson doing what they pleased, Australia are living up to the hype and the bandwagon is almost full. 

Australia qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 2019 - when they finished fourth - and they will be in a strong Pool B which includes No.2 seeds Germany and fellow Asian power Japan. 

Behind a heat check from Katerina Galickova, the Czech Republic also qualified to Vienna where they will be in Pool C containing North American heavyweights USA and Canada, who were runners-up at World Cup 2022. 

Hosts Israel grabbed the last women's ticket in style with a thrilling win over Colombia. They will be underdogs in Vienna, but might just cause some problems in Pool D which is headlined by No.4 seeds Lithuania and No.5 China.
