The countdown to the Women’s AmeriCup is on as FIBA launches the official tournament logo that pays homage to the rich Chilean heritage, while embodying the dynamic energy of women's basketball.

MIAMI (United States) – The road to the most anticipated women’s continental basketball tournament in the Americas is underway. The official logo of the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2025, which is set to take place in Santiago, Chile, from June 28 to July 6, has been officially unveiled.

A Logo Rooted in Chilean Heritage and Basketball Excellence

The newly revealed logo pays homage to Chile’s rich heritage while embodying the dynamic energy of women's basketball. At its core stands the coveted FIBA Women’s AmeriCup trophy, symbolizing the ultimate prize for the passion, dedication, and effort of the ten participating national teams. The logo holds several key design elements that celebrate Chile’s identity: The trophy is painted in copper, a tribute to Chile’s status as the world’s largest producer and exporter of copper. It also boasts a deep blue hue, representing Chilean lapis lazuli, one of the country's most iconic natural stones. The background features Santiago’s striking mountainous landscape, with red tones reflecting Chile’s national flag and light blue symbolizing the winter season during which the tournament will take place. At the center of the logo you’ll find a lone white star, mirroring one of the defining symbols of the Chilean flag.

A Story of Dreams and Dedication

To complement the logo unveiling, FIBA has released a compelling video narrative that follows a young girl in Santiago on her journey to greatness. The storyline captures her daily routine, from navigating the bustling city streets to practicing drills at local sports centers, driven by the dream of one day representing her country on the international stage. The climax of the video reveals the new AmeriCup 2025 logo on the back of her T-shirt, symbolizing the dreams and aspirations of future generations of athletes. The narration pays tribute to Women’s AmeriCup legends such as Kamilla Cardoso, Ariella Guirantes, Angel Reese, Tatiana Gomez, and Manuela Rios, reinforcing that the relentless pursuit of excellence is "for her"—for the future self and for the young girls who will follow in her footsteps.

A Premier Event for Women's Basketball

"Women's basketball is a key strategic priority for us, and FIBA is honored and grateful to Chile and the city of Santiago for hosting this landmark event. In collaboration with the Chilean National Federation (FEBA), we are committed to delivering a world-class tournament this June. I am beyond excited to witness the elite athletes and coaches who will elevate the game at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2025," said FIBA Americas Executive Director Carlos Alves. The FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2025 will bring together ten of the top national teams from across the Americas, serving as a platform to showcase emerging talent and promote the growth of women's basketball in the region. The participating teams include Chile as the host nation. Brazil (defending champion), Argentina and Colombia, who qualified through the South American Women’s Championship, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Mexico, who secured their spots via the Centrobasket Women’s Championship, and Canada and the United States, completing the field. With the unveiling of this bold and symbolic logo, FIBA officially kicks off the countdown to an unforgettable tournament in Santiago, Chile, where the best teams in the Americas will compete for continental glory.
