BEIRUT (Lebanon) - Season 2 of the FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) is all set to roll now that the Sub-Zone leagues' Group Phase schedule has been confirmed by the FIBA Regional Office-Asia.
The tilt gets underway on October 16, with defending WASL-Gulf champions Kuwait Club taking on the debuting Muharraq to usher the newest chapter to FIBA's upstart pan-regional club contest.

Unlike last season where majority of the gamedays during the preliminaries featured double-headers, only one game a night will be held in the said round in Season 2.
Still, the league will stick to last season's schedule. Games in the Gulf will be played on Mondays and Tuesdays, while West Asia clashes will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The Group Phase will be played until January 18.
The Final Phase, meanwhile, is expected to be played shortly after.
Sixteen teams will participate in the FIBA WASL Sub-Zone Group Phase, with 8 making up the West Asia League and the other half comprising the Gulf League.
Each Sub-Zone League will feature two groups of 4 teams, with the top seed by the end of the round-robin Group Phase directly qualifying to the best-of-3 Semi-Finals.
The second and third-ranked teams will play in the Qualification to Semi-Finals - also a best-of-3.
The top 3 teams from both the West Asia and Gulf leagues will be joined by the champion teams from the South and Central Asia Sub-Zones in the FIBA WASL Final 8.
