Spain will not participate in the upcoming FIBA 3x3 Women’s Series event in Poitiers, France, which is held on June 29-30, 2021.

Following the Covid-19 Protocol for FIBA Official National Team, Club and 3x3 Pro Teams Competitions, tests were performed yesterday and part of the delegation has tested positive. The rest of the delegation has been placed in isolation.

With the health and safety of players, coaches and officials being the primary consideration, the games Spain vs Romania and Spain vs Thailand will not take place.

Spain will lose these two games by forfeit.

The remaining games in Poitiers are not impacted and are set to take place as planned. Only the game Netherlands vs Austria will now take place at 9.10pm local time (GMT+2) instead of 9.35pm.

FIBA will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and communicate any further updates regarding its competitions if necessary.
