    LONDON (2012 London Olympics) – The competition schedule and ticket prices for the 2012 Olympic Games have been released with the Basketball Tournament – one of the most popular events – set to take place between 28th July and 12th August.

    Ticket prices across all 26 Olympic sports start at £20 ($32) per session (morning afternoon or evening) and special rates are available for young people as well as seniors.

    The Olympics officially begin on 27th August 2012 with the opening ceremony. The Basketball Tournament will begin the very next day with the women tipping things off at the Olympic Park’s Basketball Arena.

    The men will play their preliminary rounds at the specially-built venue before moving on to the O2 Arena (also known as North Greenwich Arena) for the knockout stages, from the quarter-finals all the way to the Gold medal game.

    The women will play their preliminary rounds and quarter-finals at the Basketball Arena before joining the men at the O2 Arena for the semi-finals and medal games.

    The women’s gold medal game will get underway on Saturday 11th August 2012 at 21:00 local time while the men’s final is set for a 15:00 local time start the following day, which is the last day of the Olympiad.
