MIES (Switzerland) - After compiling one of the greatest résumés in basketball history over 20 years, Diana Taurasi is retiring from the sport.
"Mentally and physically, I'm just full," Taurasi told Time. "That's probably the best way I can describe it. I’m full and I’m happy."
For over two decades, Taurasi has defined excellence - rewriting record books, winning championships, and inspiring generations with her competitive fire. She was truly one of the greatest ever to play the game, and that was on display even more exceptionally on the international stage.
Playing for the USA, she won three Women's Basketball World Cups, a historic six Olympic gold medals, and one Women's AmeriCup.
Beyond the accolades, Taurasi’s influence is felt in the way she played—with swagger, resilience, and an unrelenting drive to win. She didn’t just compete; she elevated the game, paving the way for future stars.
As Taurasi steps away from the court, her legacy remains indelible. The GOAT of women’s basketball leaves behind not just records, but a blueprint for greatness.
