MIES (Switzerland) - FIBA has launched its own executive marketing program, an online learning initiative designed to assist National Federations with their commercial planning and needs.

This action-orientated program is designed for the National Federations' senior management and will provide practical and actionable tools to help them create and implement marketing plans to enhance their events and activities within their organization.

Amidst the pandemic in 2020, FIBA published a series of webinars for National Federations, players, coaches, game officials and other actors of the game to support them in their development and learning activities. To date, more than 650 webinars have been successfully prepared and delivered by FIBA Headquarters and the FIBA Regional Offices in English, Spanish and French languages, with participants from more than 150 National Federations taking part.

Continuing with this success, the FIBA Executive Marketing Programme (FEMP) aims to provide in-depth information on various marketing topics on an online platform. The program is divided into three modules - marketing plan, sponsorship, and gameday revenues and is available in English, with French and Spanish versions to be released at a later stage.

As part of its 'Empower National Federations' strategic objective, FIBA is committed to the sustainable growth and commercial development of national team basketball, and candidates will gain first-hand knowledge from various experts, including external consultants, FIBA Media and FIBA Marketing representatives, selected National Federations and FIBA's Sport and Competitions professionals.

With many home and away games in national team windows on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, this executive education program will be an excellent resource for marketing professionals. National Federations can nominate two candidates to the program. Once enrolled, which is accessible through the FIBA Knowledge Sharing Platform and is 100 percent online, candidates can complete the program at their own pace.

The FIBA Executive Marketing Programme will commence in late April 2021.
