LJUBLJANA (FIBA Basketball World Cup) - After starting its European leg in Milan, Italy last weekend - on the occasion of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four - the Trophy Tour will be in Slovenia's capital of Ljubljana over the next three days (Friday 23-Sunday 25 May), where there will be no shortage of great activities for fans and passers-by to take part in as they get in the mood for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The Basketball Federation of Slovenian (KZS) welcomes the Trophy Tour in Ljubjlana's centrally-located Congress Square. Past, present and future stars of the Slovenian national team - including FIBA Hall of Fame inductee Ivo Daneu, Jure Zdovc, Jaka Lakovic, Domen Lorbek and Edo Muric - will be on hand to meet and interact with the fans, who will also have the opportunity to get their picture taken with the Naismith Trophy.
The ultimate fan experience will be complete thanks to the Road Show 2014 articulated full-size truck (with its travelling exhibit that features unique pieces of history as well as state-of-the-art interactive games) and two Trophy Tour courts where participants can show off their skills and take part in contests for a chance to win great Spain 2014 prizes.
The timing of this Trophy Tour stop could not be more perfect. It was 44 years ago, on 23 May 1970 in Ljubljana, that Yugoslavia beat the USA to win the sixth edition of the FIBA World Championship, with Daneu a member of that winnning team.
Before the action starts in Congress Square on Friday, the Naismith Trophy will appear on RTV's news programme on Thursday evening.
Be sure to check out the Trophy Tour and Road Show 2014 pages on the Spain 2014 website for all the latest information, photos and highlights.
