MIES (Switzerland) - FIBA is reaching out to passionate basketball fans and pundits who are eager to share their enthusiasm for the world's greatest sport as members of the FIBA Stream Team on Twitch.
The FIBA Basketball Stream Team will enable a network of dedicated creators to grow, helping to inspire the next generation of basketball fans. Twitch users that are already members of the Stream Team include Vince Chang, who hosts Shots Fired, as well as Jordan Ligons, Sacha Allix and Dahlia, to name a few.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative from an international governing body, Stream Team members will be offered material from across the globe to stream on their own Twitch channels, including highlights, archive games and the newly launched magazine show Shots Fired.
The International Basketball Federation and Twitch announced a multi-year collaboration to bring more basketball content to the interactive live streaming service just under a year ago.
The collaboration has not only helped further enhance FIBA's innovation profile producing new formats for fans to watch basketball and interact with each other using a new, highly engaging streaming service. It has also built value for FIBA and its commercial partners by reaching new fans of younger demographics worldwide, one of FIBA's strategic priorities for this current cycle which is to 'Enlarge the FIBA Family'.
FIBA's primary aim is for the network to help develop and promote the sport of basketball in as many languages to unite the community and help grow the game.
Hoops fans on Twitch can apply for Basketball Stream Team membership at streamteam.basketball.
