FIBA choose five companies to build its African Regional Office

ABIDJAN (Africa Regional Office Headquarters) – FIBA on Friday October 27 awarded five companies the right to build its new African Regional Office in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The bidding process, which began on September 22, 2017 and initially brought together 19 architecture companies, ended on October 19.
A panel of experts approved the projects presented by five groups including: CICO, METALUX, EGEBI, ALBEDO and SODIMAS.
CICO will be in charge of the earthworks and preparation of the ground and Metalux will take care of carpentry works.
Electricity and safety work will be carried out by EGEBI while ALBEDO will handle all the air-conditioning systems. SODIMAS was handed the rights for the installation of lifts.
FIBA on February 7 held the groundbreaking ceremony for the two-floor building which will be built on a 4,000 square metre plot of land on the banks of the Ebrie Lagoon in the Treichville borough and is expected to be completed by early 2018.
During the ceremony, a capsule was filled with basketball objects and memorabilia that included signed balls, and three books on the history of FIBA Africa that will be cemented into the building's foundations.
