FIBA active participants in China Sports Show
SHANGHAI (China) - FIBA have taken part for the second consecutive year in the China Sports Show, which was held this week in Shanghai.
SHANGHAI (China) - FIBA have taken part for the second consecutive year in the China Sports Show, which was held this week in Shanghai. The Equipment & Venue Centre is FIBA's global approval program for basketball equipment, representing over 90 companies and over 500 products accredited for use in basketball competition.
FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre participated in the conference virtually while FIBA China representatives attended the three-day event from September 28 to 30, in person.
The Equipment & Venue Centre was presented virtually by Bart Prinssen, as well as its role, particularly within China. The continuous improvement in accrediting and testing of basketball equipment and the importance of innovation was emphasized.
It was also announced that the FIBA China office will play a key role to assist the management of the approval program in China and welcomed new Chinese applicants, who demonstrate that they meet the high standard, to join the program.
"Building on the legacy of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, the Equipment & Venue Centre is excited to broaden our presence in China. The conference today offered us local insights and confidence in expanding the FIBA brand together with existing and new partners", said Bart Prinssen, Head of FIBA's Equipment & Venue Centre.
The China Sports Show takes place annually and is organized by the China Sporting Goods Federation (CSGF), which has 700 member companies and was founded in 1993. The CSGF is a national association of sporting goods manufacturers and distributors in China and is a member of the World Federation of Sporting Goods. The China Sports Show is a unique platform to share industry resources and enable information exchanges between its members.
FIBA also took part in a round table discussion, jointly organized with the China Sporting Goods Federation (CSGF) during the conference, pictured above. Industry representatives from Merry Sports, Enlio and Jinling Sports, shared their experiences with working with FIBA. European-based companies, Gerflor and Schelde Sports spoke about their involvement at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 and the Chinese sports market. The panel also included Mr. Kelvin Fang of FIBA China and Mr. Jie Luo Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CSGF.
