ANTALYA (2010 FIBA World Championship) - The 2010 FIBA World Championship promotional stand on display at the 73rd International Sports Press Association Congress (AIPS) is drawing a lot of attention.
As the countdown to the start of the 2010 FIBA World Championship continues, so do the promotional activities of the Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF)/2010 Local Organising Committee (LOC).
The promotional stand, to be found in the lobby of the Belek Premium Rixos Hotel, has drawn the attention, interest and curiosity of more than 400 international sports writers from 100 countries, who are in town to attend the AIPS's four-day congress, which started on Thursday. The congress officially began on Friday with the welcoming speeches.
LOC members on hand provided journalists with information regarding the 2010 FIBA World Championship and handed out t-shirts, brochures, stickers, promotional gifts baring the effigy of Bascat, the tournament's mascot as well as posters of the 'Giant Get-Together' promotional campaign.
A huge mural of the campaign serves as the background for the stand and the 'Giant Get-Together' videos - featuring international stars Kobe Bryant, Tony Parker and Hedo Turkoglu to mention a few - are shown on screens.
The promotional stand is open throughout the duration of the AIPS Congress.
The TBF President, Mr Turgay Demirel, will make a speech and then give a presentation of the 2010 FIBA World Championship at 17:15 (16:15 CET) today.
