MUNICH (Germany) - Emma Meesseman has been crowned EuroLeague Women October MVP after a typically blistering start to the new season for Fenerbahce Opet.
The forward claimed the accolade thanks to a combination of both fan and expert panel voting, having been one of the stars in the November Team of the Month lineup.
Meesseman recorded the highest performance efficiency valuation during the period at 28.5. That helped Fenerbahce Opet reach the Second Round and maintain their flawless record, with a superb average return of 21.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 2.3 steals.
She opened the new campaign with a sparkling display in an 81-52 success at Villeneuve d'Ascq LM, going 8 of 11 from the field to drain 20 points - as well as adding 5 boards and 3 assists.
The hot shooting streak continued against Casademont Zaragoza in an 84-64 triumph, while Meesseman also turned up the dial at both ends of the court with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.
Next in line was a thrilling 90-88 win at KGHM BC Polkowice as she helped the reigning champions avoid a big upset with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and another 4 steals.
Finally, Meesseman wrapped October up in style with 23 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds in a 95-75 win at home to Villeneuve d'Ascq LM which booked Fenerbahce's place in the next phase of the competition.
