SINGAPORE - Excitement is already building for the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2024, which is poised to kick off in spectacular style, marking the beginning of an exciting year for the world's number one urban team sport.
For the third straight edition, the vibrant city of Singapore will host the premier 3x3 tournament in Asia from March 27-31, 2024. The games will be played at the Singapore Sports Hub, a venue that has staged numerous renowned sports events.
"We are thrilled to return to Singapore for the third edition of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup, kicking off what promises to be a monumental year. Starting the season in this vibrant city is truly special, and the anticipation is building as the best 3x3 players and teams in Oceania and Asia prepare to engage in fierce competition," said Alex Sanchez, FIBA 3x3 Director.
“Building on the success of the past two editions of FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup and the inaugural 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup, we are excited to bring the basketball action back to our local and regional fans. Organising such international events allows Singapore to showcase our capabilities and elevate the profile of the sport locally and regionally, thereby inspiring more youths to pursue the sport competitively. At the same time, it provides our Team Singapore athletes a valuable opportunity to compete alongside the best teams in the region in front of a home crowd. We are immensely proud of our athletes’ fighting spirit in the last two seasons, and look forward to another exciting basketball season this March,” said Marcus Tan, Chief of Sport Development Group, Sport Singapore.
We are thrilled to host the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup once again here at the Singapore Sports Hub. This event complements our commitment to provide greater access for Singaporeans and visitors to world-class sporting action,” shared Yazed Osman, Group Head, Events & Placemaking, Kallang Alive Sport Management. “We will continue to proactively programme around the tournament with inviting activities for the community at large to drive awareness and grow interest in basketball because all it takes is a spark to kindle passion and ambition, especially in our youths, and we aspire to be that catalyst for sporting dreams.”
43 teams representing more than 20 nations from around the world will face off on the court.
