Everything you need to know about FIBA 3x3 World Tour Prague Masters 2023

PRAGUE (Czech Republic) - A favorite destination returns to the World Tour as excitement builds for the 10th edition of the FIBA 3x3 Prague Masters on August 5-6.

Here is all the important information you need before the sixth Masters of 2023.

Who is competing in Prague?

This loaded draw has a total of 14 squads: Ub Huishan NE,  Vienna, Amsterdam HiPRO, Antwerp TOPdesk, Beijing, Partizan, Liman Huishan NE, Paris, Riga, Marijampole Mantinga, Fribourg, Tel-Aviv, Jeddah, Ostrava Victoria.

Who are the favorites?

Obviously we're starting with the No.1 seeds Ub Huishan NE (SRB), who continue to break records. 

They are aiming to again create history by becoming the first team to ever win six Masters in a season. Novi Sad (2018) and Ub (2022) both won five titles.

Last year, Ub had a mid-season slump but it's hard to see that happening this time around and they will have fond memories of Prague having won there last season. 

 

They substitute Macau MVP Marko Brankovic with Marseille MVP Nemanja Barac as Ub look to again flex their muscles. 

The rest of the teams are feeling mighty jealous, so expect them to pack a punch in Prague. 

Amsterdam HiPRO (NED) have felt like Ub's closest challengers and will be extra determined after falling in the quarters in Edmonton. 

Vienna (AUT), too, look the goods having made semis in their two Masters this season, while loaded Beijing (CHN) are starting to rediscover their best after a mini-slump. 

We could go on and on, but we just have to include Antwerp TOPdesk (BEL) and Liman Huishan NE (SRB) who have both made Masters finals this season. 

Okay, we just can't finish yet, because that would be disrespectful to Paris (FRA), Riga (LAT) and Partizan (SRB) who are always highly competitive.

Who are the players to watch?

Of course, Strahinja Stojacic gets the honor of kicking us off because 'Doctor Strange' is the center of the multiverse after winning his third Masters MVP of the season in Edmonton. 

He won MVP in Prague last year, so it will be brave to bet against him here. 

 

Other top players are keen to inch closer to Stojacic's crown - the top two being scoring machine Worthy de Jong from Amsterdam and Beijing's Karlis Lasmanis. 

These two athletic beasts have all the tools to walk away with MVP, so too Quincy Diggs and Stefan Kojic who are two dudes capable of scoring from anywhere on the half-court. 

There are knock down shooters set to heat up Prague, including red-hot Miroslav Pasajlic and Nauris Miezis - two snipers eyeing new watches because they love nothing more than hitting Maurice Lacroix Buzzer Beaters.

You want some Wilson wizards then we have you covered with Franck Seguela and Malik Hluchoweckyj being two of the best magicians on the half-court. 

 

It's not all about offense because Dennis Donkor and big fella Mihailo Vasic can make defense look like a thing of beauty. 

And get ready to be treated to the New Gen with dunking machine Netanel Artzi, sharpshooter Stefan Torbica and local hero Michal Svoboda ready for breakout performances.
