The week's big numbers: Tuoyo's block party in Kormend; Lee and Velikov steal the show
MUNICH (FIBA Europe Cup) - Justin Tuoyo was handing out blocks left, right and center in Kormend, while Paris Lee and Asen Velikov also got the job done on the defensive end in the steal department.
MUNICH (FIBA Europe Cup) - Justin Tuoyo was handing out blocks left, right and center in Kormend, while Paris Lee and Asen Velikov also got the job done on the defensive end in the steal department.
All three inscribed their names at the top of seasonal leaderboards in the two defensive categories to headline a somewhat defensive-minded edition of the weekly round-up.
Like every week, we are taking look at the most interesting events of the gameday through the lens of numbers and getting you up-to-speed on all of the record-breaking performances.

The first tickets to the Second Round were handed out this week, with Group D leaders Egis Kormend and Keravnos through to the next stage with two games remaining in the Regular Season.

On the other end of the deal, their group rivals Basic-Fit Brussels and BC Balkan met their fate and were duly eliminated like Bosna in Group A, Dinamo Tbilisi in Group E, Khimik in Group G and Karposh Sokoli in Group H.

There was no way around Justin Tuoyo at Kormend Arena this week, with the Hungarian side's rim protector rejecting four different Balkan players at the basket.
Kormend's big man said no to Igor Kesar, Zdravko Hristov and Radoslav Kochev already in the first quarter before adding Ventislav Petkov's name to the list in the second half.
Having equaled the competition season-high with 4 blocks, Tuoyo joined Caleb Green of Trabzonspor and Kataja Basket big man Tommi Huolila at the top of the leaderboard.
The all-time best of 7 blocks in a single game is owned by Kervin Bristol, who did it against Telekom Baskets Bonn last year in the Play-Offs as a member of Kataja Basket.

Paris Lee of Telenet Giants Antwerp and Lukoil Academic point guard Asen Velikov tormented their opponents on the defensive end so much that they ended up on the league's most notorious takeaway artist list with a season-high 6 steals each.
I see you P. Lee

Two players, Andre Hollins of Kormend and Doug Wiggins of Bakken Bears, had already registered 6-steal games earlier this season, to make it a company of four at the top of the steal leaderboard.
The all-time high belongs to Kim Adams, who registered 9 steals in a game against Finnish side KTP Basket Kotka while representing Rosa Radom in the 2015-16 season.

Demir Insaat guard Bracey Wright became the seventh player this season to make at least 10 free-throws in a single game, going a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity stripe.

In an 80-76 win over Khimik, the Buyukcekmece player finished the night with 21 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and a clutch block on the defensive end that helped to seal the deal down the stretch.

Augustas Peciukevicius had a competition season-high 12 assists for Basic-Fit Brussels in a 90-77 loss to Keravnos on the road in Nicosia, tying Jesse Sanders of SL Benfica at the top of the leaderboard.

The point guard from Lithuania will have only two more opportunities to showcase his skills in the FIBA Europe Cup this season, with the Belgian club already doomed for a Regular Season exit.

It is as if two different versions of Nandor Kuti turned up for U-BT Cluj-Napoca in the Group E duel in Turkey against Istanbul BBSK. The 20-year-old Romanian forward started the game red-hot and had 16 points at the end of the first quarter on 6-of-7 shooting from the field, as Cluj-Napoca suffered their first defeat, 92-82.
What followed next was absolute silence for the rest of the game after the Turkish side re-adjusted their priorities defensively. Kuti finished with the same 16 points in nearly 26 minutes of action, attempting just three more shots after the first quarter and missing them all.

Dardan Berisha set the second-best scoring mark in the FIBA Europe Cup this season and collected nearly half of his team's points in a 33-point performance against Belfius Mons-Hainaut.
The big number did not come at the cost of efficiency, with the guard knocking down 12-of-20 shots from the field and converting 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.

However, that wasn't enough for Sigal Prishtina to come out with a victory, as they came to a 75-69 defeat at home in Kosovo after a forgettable fourth quarter, during which they managed just 8 points.

A couple of weeks after defeating Bosna 72-43, Donar Groningen got a taste of their own medicine against ESSM Le Portel, with the French side holding them to under 50 points at Le Chaudron.
The Dutch side had a hard time scoring the ball and ended up losing 60-49 on the road in France. It was the second fewest points scored by any team this season.
Nevertheless, Le Portel head coach Eric Girard said Donar Groningen were the best team they have played since the beginning of the season, both in the FIBA Europe Cup and ESSM Le Portel.

Alba Fehervar like to get down and dirty, but keep their glass clean. Great hustle on the boards against Bnei Rav-Bariach Herzliya in Israel allowed the Hungarian side to register the second-best mark this season with 49 rebounds.
.@Alba_fehervar with a statement road win in 🇮🇱, as they improve to a 2-2 record in Group F! #FIBAEuropeCup

Elsewhere, Bulgarian side Balkan Botevgard also had the same number of boards in an overtime defeat to Kormend, but did have 5 more minutes to work with.
