    Strebkov shines for Nizhny Novgorod en route to Top Performer honors

    MUNICH (FIBA Europe Cup) - After earning a spot on the Team of the Week a week ago, Ivan Strebkov of Nizhny Novgorod took it one step further and claimed the Top Performer honors this time around.

    MUNICH (FIBA Europe Cup) - After earning a spot on the Team of the Week a week ago, Ivan Strebkov of Nizhny Novgorod has taken it one step further seven days later, claiming Top Performer honors after guiding his team to the Round of 16.

    The 26-year-old shooting guard orchestrated a 110-86 triumph against Istanbul BBSK by scoring a season-high 27 points, grabbing 3 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists.

    Having knocked down all five three-point attempts, Strebkov finished the game on 8-of-10 shooting from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line for an efficiency index of 32.

    His teammate Stevan Jelovac chipped in with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals, missing just one field goal all night long, as Nizhny Novgorod secured second place in Group I.

    Elsewhere, a marvelous two-way performance by Jeffrey Crockett also pushed Bakken Bears into the Play-Offs with an 87-76 overtime victory versus Mornar Bar.

    One of the most versatile players in the FIBA Europe Cup, the forward made a huge impact on both ends of the floor, collecting 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 6 assists and 3 blocks.

    Tsmoki-Minsk forward Chris Czerapowicz played an instrumental role in keeping the team afloat in Group K with a 22-point and 5-rebound display in against Szolnoki Olaj.

    Having beaten the Hungarian powerhouse 86-61 in a do-or-die matchup in Minsk, the Belarusian club extended their FIBA Europe Cup campaign and will now be among the teams fighting for the Round of 16.

    Paced by point guard Andre Hollins, Egis Kormend also improved their position before the decisive Second Round battles with an 86-81 road win against BC Nevezis of Lithuania.

    Hollins connected on 7-of-9 field goal attempts to lead the game in scoring with 21 points, while also chipping in with 3 assists and a pair of rebounds.
