    - Turkey overturned a 16-point deficit to beat Belgium 61-57 behind the brilliance of Berfin Sertoglu.

    - Israel captured a memorable and gripping 74-73 success against Czech Republic.

    - Vanesa Jasa was on fire for Latvia who took a first win by easing out Italy 76-69.

    Top Performers

    The best display of the day came from Turkey's Berfin Sertoglu who claimed a huge double-double of 24 points and 13 rebounds in the exciting victory over Belgium. Also grabbing four steals, she came out with a sparkling performance efficiency valuation of 34.


    Vanesa Jasa
    was unstoppable in that win against Italy and her 29 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals was the difference-maker in the contest.

    Marija Lekovic impressed at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket earlier this summer and showed her class for Montenegro with 26 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists, although it was not enough to see them take the win against Poland. 

    Henna Sandvik showed why she was on the pre-tournament watch-list with a big show for Finland in their narrow 76-72 loss to Hungary as she harvested 21 points, 4 blocks, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

    Her teammate Kati Ollilainen also impressed with a contribution of 17 points after an eye-catching shooting effort and also added 9 boards.
