    French leader Leite claims MVP crown to headline All-Star Five

    KLAIPEDA / VILNIUS (Lithuania) - There was cause for a double celebration for Carla Leite of France who added to her FIBA U20 Women's European Championship 2023 winners' medal by also taking MVP honors.

    KLAIPEDA / VILNIUS (Lithuania) - There was cause for a double celebration for Carla Leite of France who added to her FIBA U20 Women's European Championship 2023 winners' medal by also taking MVP honors.

    The guard showed her skills, composure and clutch ability in a big way for her team during the competition, helping France to emerge flawless and with a first title since 2014. Leite averaged a performance efficiency valuation of 17.3 after putting up 18.4 points, 4.3 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game.. 

    Vanesa Jasa was instrumental in catapulting Latvia to history as they made their first title game at the event and her All-Star Five spot was deserved reward for playing the leading role in delivering her team's best ever finish. She produced 19.0 points, 5.0 boards and 3.0 assists per outing. 

    Spain were left disappointed as they handed over their title when losing in the Semi-Finals, but finished on a positive note by taking Third Place. There was also a high point to end for Noa Morro as she grabbed a place in the All-Star Five lineup too. The center posted a smart average of 7.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. 

    Despite the disappointment at missing the podium, Dunja Zecevic had some serious consolation after the Serbia ace also took a precious berth for her efforts. She finished with 10.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.0 steals per outing.

    Last but not least, Matilde Villa was outstanding for fifth placed Italy and takes the last spot in recognition of her stunning displays. They witnessed her accumulate a sparkling tournament-high 23.4 performance efficiency valuation, 18.7 points. 6.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 2.6 steals per game.
