Italy must now step up again when they face a Germany side on Wednesday that may have the injured Nyara Sabally back and suited up.
Either Russia or Serbia will be denied a shot at both the podium and a place at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2019. Russia pipped Poland 75-67, driven by a smart 15-point, 13-rebound double-double from Daria Ignatova .
However, they may feel meeting Serbia is not much of a reward for their efforts. Serbia had led by 16 early against Czech Republic, but eventually lost 79-44, leading to their date with Russia.
