GIBRALTAR (FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2017, Division C) - The two unbeaten teams have reached the Final, posting a couple of comfortable wins in the Semi-Finals.

Group A winners Malta had no trouble with Wales, sprinting away to a 16-2 advantage after the first quarter. They never looked back, leading by as many as 30 points in a 61-33 Semi-Final win. Britney Agius and Anthea Micallef were the only two players in double figures for the winning side, both scoring 11 points.

All 12 Malta players spent at least five minutes on the floor, and ten of them managed to put their name on the scoresheet. Shona Williams posted a double-double for Wales, who will now take on Georgia in the battle for bronze.

That is because Armenia won every quarter in a 74-53 win over Georgia in the other Semi-Final. Anna Aslanian went all-round to collect 21 points, 19 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 steals and a block. Emma Mkrtchyan also had a double-double to her name, finishing with 20 points and 10 rebounds, whilst Shake Poghosyan shook away from the defenders to grab 13 points.

In Group C, Kosovo defeated Monaco 108-56 to set-up a duel for fifth spot against Gibraltar. Agnesa Rrahmani connected on 14-of-26 shots from the field, including 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and needed less than 30 minutes of playing time to finish with a tournament-high 34 points.

No matter how the Final ends, we are in for a first. Malta and Armenia have never won gold in this competition, both with silver medals as their top result. Armenia finished as runners-up two summers ago, Malta lost the Final in 2014.
