    Andorra guard Serrato Balletbo reels in MVP honors

    SERRAVALLE (FIBA U16 European Championship 2018, Division C) – After guiding Andorra to gold, Sergi Serrato Balletbo picked up the Most Valuable Player honors in San Marino.

    SERRAVALLE (FIBA U16 European Championship 2018, Division C) – After guiding Andorra to gold at the FIBA U16 European Championship 2018, Division C with impressive individual performances, Sergi Serrato Balletbo picked up the Most Valuable Player award to headline the tournament's All-Star Five.

    The 16-year-old guard posted double-digit scoring games in each of the six contests, averaging 21.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 4.3 steals per game in Serravalle.

    He signed off from the tournament with a 15-point and 12-assist double-double with 8 rebounds and 4 assists in an 84-49 victory over Wales in the Final to put Andorra on the top step of the podium.

    The speedy Andorran player also headlined the All-Star Five, which also included runner-up Panagiotis Karras of Wales, as well as representatives of three other countries.

    Stefan Blazevic joined the list of the tournament's top performers after leading Austria to bronze; San Marino guard Francesco Palmieri represented the home nation; while Azerbaijan center Jabrayil Akbarov rounded out the selection.
