Montenegro reach Final in style to earn promotion alongside Germany

PODGORICA (Montenegro) - Montenegro and Germany reached the Final of the FIBA U16 Women's European Championship 2023, Division B, and thereby also secured promotion to Division A next summer.

Germany will return to the top flight after getting relegated last year, while Montenegro enjoy a historic first-ever promotion to Division A.

The hosts wasted no time in their Semi-Final game, outscoring Estonia, 27-10, in the first quarter and never looking back en route to a 78-41 triumph. Ksenija Nisavic's 14 points led the way with Janja Dragisic adding 13 points.

As for Germany, they had to use a strong third-quarter performance to break their Semi-Final game against Sweden open and prevail, 65-45. Greta Scholle and Rosalie Esser scored 16 and 13 points respectively to pace the Germans.
