    All you need to know: FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket 2024, Division B

    The FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket, Division B is one of 16 exciting youth events taking place during the summer of 2024.

    KONYA (Türkiye) - The FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket, Division B is one of 16 exciting youth events taking place during the summer of 2024.

    The tournament will take place in Konya, Türkiye from August 15-24.

    Who is participating?

    A total of 20 teams will compete for the Division B crown. They have been split into four groups of five teams each. The Group Phase is as follows:

    Group A: Denmark, Switzerland, Romania, Norway, Portugal Group B: Great Britain, Estonia, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lithuania Group C: Slovakia, Kosovo, Ukraine, Ireland, Türkiye Group D: Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Austria, Czechia

    What is the schedule?

    The Group Phase will take place across the first six days of the tournament with a rest day on August 18 and August 21 . Classification games will begin on August 22. The competition will continue in the form of the bracket with the Quarter-Finals, until the Final on August 24, with the Classification games also determining each of the 20 positions.

    The top three teams will earn promotion to Division A next summer.

    Who were the winners in 2023?

    Germany showed their class as they cemented an undefeated run to the Division B title, capping off a third success at this level after defeating hosts Montenegro 65-57 to return to Division A.

    Clara Bielefeld paced Germany in the Final with 13 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Ksenija Nisavic and Sanja Aksam led the hosts with a combined 34 points. They had already earned promotion to Division A by reaching the title showdown.

    Sweden also qualified for Division A after finishing in third place to complete the podium spots, replacing Portugal, Türkiye and Czechia, who were the three teams relegated from Division A last summer.

    Former MVPs

    Thanks to her solid showing in the Final, Bielefeld picked up the tournament MVP, with the versatile guard stuffing the statsheet, averaging 9.9 points, 9.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 2.9 steals and 2.7 blocks a game.     Roll of honor

    With their most recent gold medal success, Germany stand alone on top of the podium with three victories to their name and they also have five medals in total, more than any nation. Lithuania, Sweden and Serbia have all won the competition twice.
