SCHIO (EuroLeague Women) - Beretta Famila Schio will be keen to get rolling with a first win of the EuroLeague Women season when they lock horns with CMB Cargo Uni Gyor in Group B.

There were mixed emotions last week for Miguel Mendez and his side as they just missed out on what would have been a memorable win against Fenerbahce - eventually falling short 75-73 in overtime as Allie Quigley netted a wonderful 35 points for the visitors.

While disappointed that they didn't take the opportunity to wrap up a win during regulation and consequently had to endure a losing start, they can take heart from matching one of the competition's true powerhouses.

They will be strong favourites to get off the mark at the second attempt and especially after Gyor endured something of a brutal initiation back into EuroLeague Women against ZVVZ USK Prague. The Hungarian club were overwhelmed 90-51 on their return to the competition.

Even if getting a win on the road in Italy might be beyond them, the influential Cyesha Goree is at least targeting an improvement offensively.

    It's only the beginning...✨✨

She said: "Prague were a very tough team and we did not play well. We tried to score points, but we shot the ball badly.

"We can be better in the future and I hope we will be stronger in these next games," added the forward.

Her words were complemented by head coach Peter Volgyi, who stated, "EuroLeague Women is another dimension to the Hungarian Championship.

"We have to reach a higher level if we are to be successful and I hope in this game we can be better."
